Two connected patent families.

From an individual trading instruction to a coordinated portfolio, the portfolio addresses how connected accounts participate in combined execution.

Trade replication
and bundling

Five patents granted after Alice.

20172022

All five patents were granted between 2017 and 2022, after the Supreme Court’s June 19, 2014 Alice decision. The portfolio combines an early filing history with issued rights granted in the post-Alice examination environment.

Alice shaped how patent eligibility is assessed under Section 101, including claims involving abstract ideas. The significance here is the portfolio’s grant history under that framework; each patent’s scope is defined by its issued claims.

The 2012 priority application.

A pending mobile-trading application claims benefit of a provisional application filed June 13, 2012. That date is an earlier claimed priority date; the pending application itself was filed March 7, 2023.

The priority chain offers a basis to pursue additional claims directed to technology supported by the original disclosure. As BlockCopy develops its platform, the application is an opportunity to build on the existing trading and account-coordination foundation.

Application 18/118,609 remains pending. A future grant is not assured.

One platform,
multiple markets.

The portfolio is organized around reusable execution functions: receiving a trading instruction, identifying connected accounts, determining participation, assembling orders and allocating resulting positions.

These functions inform BlockCopy’s platform development and licensing strategy, with a roadmap spanning traditional securities, digital assets and event-based trading.

Scope note. Patent coverage depends on the issued claims. Pending claims remain subject to examination, and entitlement to an earlier priority date depends on supporting disclosure and applicable requirements.
